Wakefield Canada has an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable & Trade Investment Coordinator. This role will be relied upon to analyze, recommend, and process all loan applications for Canadian customers; and to process invoices and cash in a centralized A/P environment.

In this role you will:

  • Be partnering with Sales, Marketing and Finance to ensure positive trade program operation.
  • Analyze loan applications and to ensure the approved policies and guidelines have been met as well as submitting loans requiring senior management authorization.
  • Ensure equipment proposed is within guidelines and meets the customers’ requirements.
  • Monitor performance of contracted customers; partner with Sales where early warning
    indicators loans may be at risk.
  • Post entries, reconcile, and analyze the Trade Investments general ledger accounts and
    reconcile the general ledger to the Loans Completed Report.
  • Complete Pay Back Analysis Report for all Trade Investments across Canada.
  • Address and resolve service and pricing issues with equipment suppliers.
  • Continuously review and provide recommendations to improve policies and procedures within the Trade Investments area.
  • Prepare and complete monthly reports to the Sales and General Accounting Departments.
  • Continually evaluate and improve policies and procedures within the Trade Investments
    Department to enhance Loan Program.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that Company payables are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and disburse cheques as per cheque requisition instructions as well as preparing monthly cheque requisitions for recurring payments.
  • Partner with vendors and the procurement team to resolve quantity and pricing issues and investigate and respond to vendor invoice discrepancies.
  • Prepare A/P monthly accrual and close A/P vendor files at year end, filing all paperwork as per company protocols/process.
  • Prepare cash application as required.
  • As required prepare vendor reconciliations, support variance investigation and analysis process, participate in project work, and conduct ad-hoc analysis.
