Job Summary:

The Supply Chain team is charged with the task of ensuring products ae safely delivered to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner.  The Distribution Supervisor plays a key role in managing the people and processes surrounding the distribution of products, providing administrative, operational and analytical support to the Central Region operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports the day-to-day operations in the Central Region.
  • Responsible for order management in the Region, including but not limited to:
    • Collaborate with the Demand Planning team in Toronto on inventory and stock transfers to ensure a smooth flow of product to all Regions.
    • Manage open orders and on time delivery working closely with the warehouse operations and working with the ERP system – Microsoft AX.
    • Provide assistance with lost or problem orders and investigate the cause and initiate corrective action.
    • Review orders in AX, release orders from WMS or make adjustments in the system as required.
    • Collaborate with dispatcher to request/recommend any adjustments needed for delivery schedules to ensure delivery efficiency and excellence.
    • Ship confirms in a timely basis to ensure up to date and accurate inventory and delivery information.
    • Coordinating logistics with 3rd party carriers as required.
    • Assist the Customer Care team with inquiries/requests such as special customer requests/requirements, estimated time of arrivals, inventory inquiries, etc.
  • Strong focus on process management to ensure efficient and effective operations and identify and implement initiatives or process improvements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide back-up support to Supply Chain Manager, Central Region as required.
  • Provide leadership to the warehouse staff.  Work with employees to coach, train, and counsel as necessary to ensure a cohesive, efficient, and team driven workforce.
  • Ensure proper health and safety practices and procedures are followed.
  • General office and administrative support as required.  Support with special projects as required.

Direct Managerial / Supervisory Responsibility

  • Responsible for the supervision and development of warehouse staff.

Education / Experience:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in a related field. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a Supply Chain or logistics support role. 
  • General knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and applicable provincial legislation.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Excel. 
  • Experience working with an ERP or WMS - experience working with Microsoft Dynamics would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.
  • Occasional in-field (warehouse) work which would require the use of all necessary PPE.
