Wakefield Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full time Bulk Driver reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. The primary objective of the Bulk Driver is to safely and efficiently transport and unload package and bulk goods between Wakefield and its customers, with responsibility for daily customer deliveries along planned routes within the region.
In this role, you will:
- Liaise with dispatcher and organize daily packaged goods & bulk shipments using Wakefield fleet of trucks.
- Load and unload different vehicles using forklifts and pallet truck.
- Perform the required forklift inspection procedures.
- Participate in and successfully complete Bulk Delivery Training.
- Perform all required package and warehouse duties.
- Attend Safety and Compliance Seminars and constantly strive to maintain a safe working environment.
- Long distance and overnight driving during multiple day deliveries may be required, as may overtime due to run schedule, weather, or work volume.
- Receive and follow direction from the Team Lead.
- Special projects participation as required.
- Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 2 years relevant truck driving experience.
- Has a Class AZ License with a clear Drivers Abstract.
- Can operate a manual transmission.
- Must be self motivated, conscientious, and able to work well with others.
- Passes an aptitude test to demonstrate the required competency level and demonstrates continuous competency in the position.
- Is in good physical condition to adequately manage physical aspects of tasks.
- Is motivated to see projects through to completion.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and US Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Is organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks at hand.
- Demonstrates respect for others and is performance driven to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Communicates in a friendly and professional manner with a focus on customer service.
- Will work overtime as may be required to meet operational demands.
- Will acquire the skills required to deliver bulk oil and successfully complete Wakefield’s Bulk Truck Training requirements.
Working conditions you must know about:
- All required PPE must be worn while performing tasks.
- Out of City travel and overnight stays during multiple day deliveries is a requirement.
- Hours of work may vary according to operational needs such as vacations, absences, truck selection and fluctuating workloads.
