JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for the receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of products. This includes managing inventory controls and arranging goods to maximize productivity levels. The Shipping Specialist ensures the product is safely delivered to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner by supporting the processes surrounding the distribution of product across shifts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Schedule inbound appointments for receipts and/or pick ups.
  • Administer customer inquiries or returns.
  • Receive and store products from internal suppliers and post the movement of goods.
  • Prepare all shipping documentation and forward this information to support close cooperation for the national supply chain.
  • Generate and distribute monthly receipts and reports to show current POS shipping quantities.
  • Provide assistance with lost or problem orders, investigate cause and initiate corrective action, prioritize orders and demonstrate the confidence to make business decision.
  • Timely inventory adjustments to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Weekly review of customer fines for approval/dispute.
  • Work with warehouse team to perform weekly cycle counts.
  • Participate on a team with Demand Planning, Customer Care and Manufacturing operations to facilitate the smooth flow of goods through Wakefield Canada’s supply chain. Attend daily production meetings to coordinate inventory requirements and availability.
  • Optimize Warehouse to utilize space and maximize productivity and efficiency. Maintain the warehouse to meet safety regulations and ensure processes and procedures are followed.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements to support efficient and effective operations.
  • Ensure that all WHMIS and HSSE regulations are adhered to.
  • Participate in TDG (Transporting Dangerous Goods) training every 3 years.
  • Special projects as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • College or University degree in Supply Chain or related Business field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years Supply Chain experience, including inventory management
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • General knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and applicable provincial legislation.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite and Internet navigation skills.
