Job Summary:
The IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager is a hands‑on technology leader responsible for the reliability, performance, security, and evolution of Wakefield Canada’s IT infrastructure. This role oversees network and cloud operations, endpoint management, cybersecurity, the corporate Help Desk, and vendor relationships. The Manager will also champion the adoption and governance of Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI‑enhanced productivity tools.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy & Planning
- Lead infrastructure strategy, architecture, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, including security, backup, DR/BCP, identity management, and AI usage.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for Microsoft Copilot, generative AI, and automation opportunities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and benchmark practices against security standards.
- Contribute to budget planning and forecasting.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors.
- Manage licensing, renewals, certificates, and compliance.
- Ensure patching, vulnerability management, and update compliance.
- Lead deployment of systems, cloud services, and AI tools.
Operational Management
- Manage server, network, storage, virtualization, Azure cloud, and identity infrastructure.
- Oversee the Help Desk, including SLA performance and user satisfaction.
- Drive automation and AI‑based operations.
- Administer access rights, Intune/GPO, and security controls.
- Maintain documentation, backups, monitoring, and incident response.
- Ensure compliance with IT and cybersecurity policies.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise IT administrators, Help Desk staff, and vendors
- Ensure adequate operational coverage.
- Develop staff skills in cloud, automation, and AI tools.
- Promote a user‑centric support culture.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- Experience with hybrid cloud, and enterprise networks.
- Preferred certifications: Azure Admin/Architect, M365 Administrator, Security certifications.
- AI/Copilot knowledge preferred.
- Experience supervising technical staff.
