Wakefield Canada Inc. has an opportunity for a MATERIAL HANDLER. An important role that ensures all materials are properly moved, stored, and distributed to the right areas at the right times, helping to keep the production process running smoothly.
In this role, you will:
- Responsible for movement and transactions of incoming and outcoming inventory
- Safe forklift operation (Electric and Propane Counterbalance, and Reach Trucks)
- Perform forklift inspection procedures
- Safely load and unload trailers
- Receive & Ship (Receives all inbound materials including QC sample tests and documents; Ships outbound materials; Ensure correct quantity and quality; Performs all WMS & MS Dynamics AX transactions).
- Process forklift operations for all production lines (stock movements, bring inbound raw materials, takeaway finished goods, RAF)
- Supporting Plant & Warehouse control and inventory cycle counting
- Pick and process customer orders and stock transfers
- Participation in Plant & Warehouse housekeeping
- Maintain a safe work environment; attend safety and regulatory compliance seminars/trainings
- Responsible for spill containment and spill clean ups
- Decant and rework of leaking / obsolete products
- Label pails, kegs, drums, totes
- Bottle packing and bottle dumping
- Supporting jug line de-palletizer operation
- Willingness to upgrade technical skills to meet the current and future needs of the organization
- Responsible for filling of drums, pails kegs and all the totes
Successful candidates will have:
- 5-years of lift truck experience with a valid forklift license
- Ability to lift and carry 50-lbs, perform repetitive tasks, and safely drive for extended periods
- Self-motivated, conscientious, able to work independently and work well with others
- Able to manage workloads in a busy work environment, flexible & adaptable to change
- High aptitude for learning new concepts and staying current in an ever-changing environment.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, MS Outlook, MS Dynamics AX, WMS, and other applications required to perform role responsibilities
- A minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Previous WHMIS training and experience
- Valid forklift license
- LOTO - Lock Out & Tag Out training
