Job Summary:
The Process Operator effectively performs a variety of manufacturing tasks to address business requirements within Manufacturing operations.  This role also performs Quality Control tasks for both raw material receipt and finished product approval, and ensures all HSSE and Manufacturing standards are met while performing assigned tasks.
In additionto core Packaging Operator tasks identified below, the Process Operator has been fully trained and is expected to perform additional tasks (outlined in detail in task SOP’s) below when required by the business:
  1. Blending and Bulk Operations Tasks (at least two of:  In-Line Blend, Batch Blend, DEF Blend, Bulk Load, Bulk Unload, Railcar Shunting)
Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform the required recommended fork lift inspection procedures.
  • Safely operate all the equipment on the filling lines.
  • Perform Quality Control checks such as record fill weights.
  • Ensure proper set up of data coding equipment.
  • Efficiently run all packaging line equipment
  • Responsible for the industrial and automotive filling of drums, pails kegs and totes
  • Responsible for the DEF filling of drums and totes.
  • Responsible for hybrid tote filling including associated Quality Control tasks
  • Participate in inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Receiving/unloading of packaging raw materials.
  • Perform housekeeping functins including 5S & GMP tasks
  • Liaise with shipping coordinators as required.
  • Attend Safety and Compliance Seminars and constantly strive to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Understand emergency/incident response including spill containment
  • Receive and follow direction from the Team Lead
  • Special projects participation as required.
  • IM Impacting:The Toronto facility utilizes the BP Integrity Management (IM) Standard in which a clear set of procedures and policies are in place for high risk operations. This position shall follow standard IM procedures as required and has the following roles and responsibilities:
    • Familiar with Non-Normative Blend Plant Processes (NNBPP) specifically Hot Box, Safe handling, storage and use of Propane Cylinders.
    • Job training on Specific normalized skills required to operate / maintain NNBPPs
    • Follow standard IM procedures as required

Education / Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years work related experience
  • Lift truck experience with valid lift truck training or ability to obtain
  • Good reading comprehension, writing and mathematical skills
  • Required to successfully pass an aptitude test to demonstrate the required competency level and demonstrate continuing competency in the position
  • Must have, or be able to acquire, the skills required to successfully demonstrate basic PC skills (MS Suite and Axapta) and a proficiency in internet navigation
Working Conditions:
  • Plant environment with potential for outdoor work
  • All required PPE must be worn while performing tasks
  • Hours of work may vary according to operational requirements such as vacations, absences, and fluctuating work volumes.

  • Process Operator (as per collective agreement)
