Job Summary:
The Packaging Operator is a key member of the Manufacturing team who will: operate packaging and filling lines; drive forklift; receive and ship materials; perform all QC checks & inspections; record all documents and results accurately and timely. As a Packaging Operator your first priority is to perform all activities safely and assure all HSSE & SOP (standard operating procedures) are followed at all times. The Packaging operator will be required to maintain current knowledge and skill sets; and be willing to upgrade technical skills to meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Safe operation of Packaging Lines (Jug Line, High Speed Line, Multi Line, Automated Pail filling line, and any other new line) and Filling Lines (Automotive D/K/P/T filling, Hybrid filling, new Tote filling station, Industrial D/K/P/T)
  • Close off Work Orders accurate and timely in AX
  • Check and record fill weights
  • Ensure proper set up of data coding equipment
  • Follow Flush SOP and Matrix
  • Enter accurate and timely data in the process monitor
  • Encompass Quality Control culture (Packaging and Filling line QC testing, Inbound Raw Materials testing, Viscosity testing, Cold Crank Simulator testing, Crackle testing, XRF)
  • Responsible for spill containment and spill clean up
  • Safe operation of Fork lifts (Electric and Propane counter Balance, and Reach trucks)
  • Assuring best fork lift operating practices are followed (Pre-shift fork lift inspections; Proper propane handling; Dock lock safety, Reports damages to truck, racking or other equipment)
  • Forklift operation will support all Packaging lines and Receiving, Follows 5s Methodology, Offload when required materials outside, Transfer goods between Plant and Warehouse)
  • Pick and process customer orders and stock transfers
  • Participate in warehouse control and inventory cycle counting,
  • Ship & Receive (Receives all inbound materials including QC testing; Ships outbound materials; Performs & Documents Quality control testing, Enters all data into AX receiving)
  • Decant leaking/obsolete product & rework of product
  • Inspect Bottles & labels on packaging lines
  • Bottle packing and bottle dumping
  • Label pails, kegs, drums, totes
  • Maintain a safe work environment; attend safety and regulatory compliance seminars/training

  • Proficiency in MS Suite, MS Outlook, MS Dynamics AX and applications required to perform role responsibilities

  • Ability to understand business operations and demonstrate value through partnerships within the organization.
Education / Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience.
  • Previous WHMIS training and or experience
  • Valid forklift license.
  • Lock out – tag out training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), MS Outlook
Working Conditions:
  • Plant and Warehouse environment with occasional outdoor work
  • All required PPE must be worn while performing tasks
  • Hours of work may vary according to operational needs such as production demands, fluctuating workloads, vacations, and absences, etc.
