Wakefield Canada Inc. has an opportunity for a SR. FINANCIAL ANALYST. This role is responsible for developing, analyzing and maintaining financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and month end reporting.

In this role you will:

  • Support the corporate budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and support production of high-quality reports.
  • Drive engagement to achieve the deadlines, and challenge stakeholders to push for efficiency.
  • Consolidate budgeting and forecasting information into summary and detailed reports and provide commentary for review.
  • Assist with the preparation of the budgeting/forecasting summary deck and update the balance sheet.
  • Assist with analyzing the impact of raw material cost changes on our business and keep track of price increase impact/deviations.
  • Provide financial analytical support for business cases (line reviews, etc.) and special projects, own and develop frameworks for the various business cases that are required. 
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and investment opportunities across the entire business.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to the business to enhance their understanding of business performance.
  • Pro-actively analyze various parts of the business, input costs, processes etc. to help identify cost savings, efficiency opportunities, or other drivers of additional profitability.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Supply Chain, IT and HR).

We’re looking for someone who:

  • University degree a must, FP&A background an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ analytical experience in a corporate Finance team in manufacturing, retail or wholesale business settings.
  • Must be detail oriented and have ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, needs little direction and supervision.
  • Logical thinker, be able to break down complex issues into component parts.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

We would love it if you have:

  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and Excel, VBA and MS SQL an advantage.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
