As a key member of the Wakefield Canada Business Technology team, the Senior Business Analyst will work ‘hands on’ with the business to support our Microsoft-centric environment, including our integrated Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM and BI systems. The successful individual will be comfortable wearing many hats: consultant, project manager, business analyst, Business Technology ‘evangelist’, to name a few. This is a multi-faceted role requiring a balance of skill sets and a business-focused view of IT.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Systems Management:

    • Provide BT leadership to ensure core systems meet the needs of the business and perform at a high level of reliability, efficiency and recoverability.

    • Identify and document all systems change / enhancement specifications.

    • Oversee management and day-to-day operations of our B2B EDI capability.

  • Project Management:

    • Project management of application implementation, upgrades and 3rd party application releases across client groups with a focus on Supply Chain.

    • Key projects include optimizing our industry-leading IOT tank monitoring implementation, and leveraging Power BI for data analytics and insights.

  • Vendor Management:

    • Act as primary liaison with application and service vendor partners, negotiating, managing SLA’s, and ensuring alignment and delivery to Wakefield’s operation and budget requirements.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Lead / participate in business process redesign initiatives and leverage technology to drive gold standard solutions. Lead ‘business thinking’ from a technology perspective to design superior processes and applications.

  • Department budget planning and management for the BT managed services.

    Key Competencies:

  • Strong business savvy with broad -based functional exposure.

  • Self-starter who works well independently and as part of the team and has the ability to collaborate and influence.

  • Proven track record of project delivery excellence, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, utilizing Project Management skills and methodologies.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the knack for speaking with business partners in their language with minimal “tech talk”.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and change management skills.

  • Suitable technical skills to understand ‘under the covers’ of the application. Some programming understanding and knowledge is essential – both for spec’ing and understanding development work, and also to manage our development partners.

    Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Business with a strong technology minor.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT project management and system support.

  • Previous experience working within an integrated ERP system environment is a requirement.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience supporting the Finance, Sales and Supply Chain modules of Microsoft Dynamics AX is highly recommended.

  • Extensive business process and systems experience – exposure to cloud and mobile platforms desired.

  • Strong experience in systems reporting / business intelligence; PowerBI expertise is a plus.

  • Prior programming experience is an asset but not required.
